Ingredients

Cut chicken to desired pieces, preferably with bones. Marinate with spices for 1/2 hour or overnight.

Heat oil in a pan & roast whole spices and saute until onions are light golden brown.

Saute green chilies and ginger garlic paste and then roast the spice powders.

Add marinated chicken and cook for few minutes, then cover and cook until oil separates.

Reduce the flame, add yogurt and mix it quickly. Continue to cook until chicken is almost cooked.

Add water, coconut powder and bring to a boil. Simmer for 10 minutes or until done.

Serve shorva with roti, paratha, poori or any other flatbread, plain rice, and flavored rice varieties.
