Tomato  Onion  Pachadi

 South Indian Chutney 

Fingerlicking condiment. Side dish for tiffins; idli & dosa. Great spread for sandwiches & rolls.

Why this chutney?

Step 1

Heat oil in a pan, pop mustard, cumin and fenugreek seeds.  Then saute onion, garlic, green chili and curry leaves.

Step 2

Add salt, turmeric and give a good mix.  Then add tomatoes, mix, cover and cook until tomatoes are soft.

Step 3

Add cilantro, roasted peanuts, sesame seeds, tamarind, stir well. Turn off the flame and let the mixture cool.

Step 4

Transfer to a mixie/blender jar and grind to a fine paste. Add water as needed.

 Serve pachadi with tiffins; idli, dosa & vada. Also goes well with rice.

OR  use it as a spread for sandwiches and rolls.
